Senior Housing Officer
Small Heath, Birmingham
Salary: £26,390 per annum following a successful 6 months probationary period
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
A leading Support Housing provider has a great opportunity for a Senior Housing Officer within their Birmingham Housing Team which manages the housing stock of approximately 242 units in the West Midlands, made up of 1,2 & 3 bedroom houses and flats across Birmingham and Sandwell, on varying types of tenure. The service delivers an enhanced housing management service to vulnerable individuals and families receiving support from external partnerships and agencies. The main purpose of the Senior Housing Officer role is to ensure that the organisation is successful in providing a high quality enhanced housing management service. To achieve this, they will essentially have previous experience working with vulnerable people and other agencies and will have the ability to appropriately manage and support a staff team of four Intensive Housing Management Officers, each with their own specialised focus.
To be successful in this varied role you will have at least 12 months' staff supervisory experience; up to date knowledge in housing legislation; knowledge of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act; previous experience in voids and lettings, income recovery and neighbourhood management; preparing for and attending court in complex cases such as possession for anti-social behaviour, applying for Injunctions, demotion of tenancies; knowledge of the HCA standards. You will need to be motivated with good written, verbal communication skills and a commitment to achieve positive outcomes; proven IT skills together with great organisational and time management skills.
