Project Manager Civil/Senior Civil Engineer
Heavy civil and reinforced concrete.
Currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a leading International Engineering Contractor who support some of the leading companies with their construction projects to include all M&E Works, RC Frames, Groundwork's, Fire protection and maintenance solutions amongst many more. This particular project will oversee the Heavy Civils aspect.
As a company they are experience an extended period of growth following the successful tender and appointment from a government funded scheme to build and extend a number of Energy from Waste plants across the UK. Sites will include the West Midlands and the North West.
The role requires the person to be a highly motivated individual with initiative, self-confidence, excellent communications skills, flexibility and adaptability, with the drive and ability to work under their own direction or within a small team of subcontractors. Be keen to develop their individual capability and that of the team. Lead by example, in terms of behaviour.
Main Duties and responsibilities:
- Ensuring work output conforms to specifications and Standard/Code requirements
- Providing design support/information from site
- Assist with drawing queries from estimating & commercial staff on technical matters
- Maintaining project records
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to the job
- Carry out any other reasonable request made by line manager to support departmental or company objectives.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous project experience of heavy civil and reinforced concrete
- BEng, BSc or similar level qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Significant experience of piling, ground beams and slabs, reinforced concrete, poured in situ
- Extensive setting out experience
- Experience of reinforced concrete design in a civil engineering environment
- Minimum 6+ years relevant work experience
- Ability to work on own initiative, but understand level of responsibility within the team
- Good time management skills, with ability to prioritise work and manage a number of tasks concurrently
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to interact with a wide range of people including clients, contractors, consultants, and operatives
Desirable Experience: * Previous experience of working in civil RC Concrete environment * Knowledge of large RC tanks and concrete structures * Extensive broad knowledge of Civil Engineering products and processes
