We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Practitioner to assist in the management and leadership of the team to help promote the company to local authorities and other organisations relevant. The successful candidate will also supervise staff and assist in highlighting new services that would benefit young people in the community.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise staff, and monitor their progress
- Assist in the management and leadership of the team
- Help develop care packages/assessment for young people, and risk assessments
- Check reports from staff and time sheets
- Contact local authorities/voluntary organisation and send out information to promote future contracts
- Attend presentations with The Manager to promote SAS
- Undertake home visits also to families if appropriate
- Attend such meetings, in relation to the young person as required
- On occasions to view future accommodation (to ascertain suitability) for young people
- Highlight new services that would be beneficial to young people in the community.
- Advocate on behalf of young people
- Help with the day to day running of the service
- Assisting with assessment and casework processes
- Provide advice, support and guidance to help empower young people to take more control over their lives

Candidate Requirements:
- Social work qualification or equivalent and have at least 3 years experience of working in social work setting
- Experience of at least 2 years of supervising staff
- An understanding of The Children Act 1989 and Leaving Care Act 2000
- Able to maintain adequate records
- Ability to work on your own initiative and be able to prioritise your own work and that of others
- Able to work flexibly
- Commitment to equal opportunities
