Earth Observation / Remote Sensing Specialist
Salary range: Competitive
Location: Bristol

About us:

With the Sentinels and other satellite platforms delivering Earth observation data on a daily basis and at an unprecedented rate there is a significant commercial opportunity to derive value added information for clients, as well as maximising these resources for the benefit of humanity. As part of its growth strategy the Space Division has successfully secured contracts in the Earth observation downstream market and is currently bidding for additional work in a variety of markets. Given this overall trend within the space sector, it is an excellent opportunity for an Earth Observation and Remote Sensing specialist to join the team and be part of a growing and significant part of the business.

The company delivers a wide range of software services, solutions and consultancy to our institutional and commercial clients around the world. Developing robust, real-world software is our core business, as well as providing support services that create a real benefit to our customers. Our solutions are frequently at the heart of our client's operations and therefore critical to their business. Delivering these solutions requires a partnership approach and mutual trust, which we pride ourselves on and promote amongst our workforce.

Fusing our previous work in data and image processing, machine learning and data analytics gives the tools, processes and platform upon which to deliver the information clients desire from space borne data. The focus of this role is not the pixels typically offered by the current Earth observation market but rather the services and information derived via data analytics to governments and commercial customers.

The company is therefore looking to recruit an earth observation and remote sensing specialist to be based at our Bristol office in the UK.

The Role

* Generation of ideas and concepts for new and innovative EO-enabled products, solutions and services
* Technical development work that implements EO-enabled solutions

* Providing technical support to the bidding process
* Maintaining awareness of evolving and innovative EO and GIS technologies and techniques
* Supporting the development and mentoring of the colleagues in the area of EO
* Defining the technical roadmap and strategic direction of our EO solutions and services

Requirements:
This is a superb opportunity for an individual to join a dynamic and supportive business. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
* Relevant post graduate qualifications in Geomatics, Physical Geography, Environmental Science, Applied Remote Sensing or related fields
