Associate Director of Quality and Governance
We are seeking an Associate Director of Quality and Governance to join our Senior Management Team at Central Office in Truro
The Associate Director of Quality and Governance is about leadership and accountability of quality and compliance within the organisation. You will be responsible for leading and directing the management of risk and compliance with regulatory bodies and legal directives to support the delivery of high quality, safe care for all who use Cornwall Care's services.
The post holder will be required to work as part of the senior management team, using their professional expertise and practical knowledge to support and continue the process of transformation and continuous improvement to establish a culture of quality and safety throughout the organisation.
You will be required to deliver professional and reliable Health and Safety advice at strategic and operational level, co-ordinate the Clinical Governance process working with the Operations team and act as the professional conduit between the Senior Management Team, the Quality Assurance Committee and the Audit and Risk Committee. You will be responsible for ensuring effective mechanisms are in place to ensure all incidents are reported appropriately and to act as Caldicot Guardian for the organisation.
Essential requirements of the role:
o Degree level or professional qualification in Health / Social Care or Degree with experience of a Health / Social Care environment
o Management qualification and significant management experience in Health / Social Care or related field
o Experience in managing quality and governance / compliance
o Significant Leadership experience
o A good understanding of the legislation relating to Health and Social Care provision
o An excellent understanding of Health and Social Care regulation as it relates to Cornwall Care's services
o An appreciation of tools such as root cause analysis, appreciative enquiry/human factors, social science research or other enquiry tools and action planning
o A thorough understanding of risk management processes
o An appreciation of clinical governance
o Senior experience at associate or deputy level working in a governance/risk/patient safety role
