About the role
As HR and Payroll Assistant your purpose will be to play a key role in the smooth running of a wide variety of activity, including payroll, HR systems and People team admin support. You'll be the main point of contact in the People team splitting your time equally across payroll, HR systems activities, and delivering brilliant proactive HR support for Pukka People.

Day-to-day you'll deliver extensive admin support across a wide variety of HR activities, including updating all people team documentation, engaging with new hires, processing new employee and leaver administration, coordinating the administration across all elements of new employee inductions, creating reports, managing our Learning Academy, and working on People team projects.
As our People systems champion, you'll be involved in all data entry activity, however your role will be much more than basic data input! You'll use a logical, systematic and inquisitive approach to be our systems administrator, keeping the back-office system structure up to date and adjusting the system build, as necessary. When we want to change a process or approach you'll be the key point of contact who develops the IFS system and process flows to support this.
About you
If you are being true to yourself you are a superb career administrator who thrives on delivering excellence with an energetic and proactive approach, whether that's in payroll, getting people started or fitting into a high-pace team.
You'll be working towards, or have, a Certificate in HR Practice or be educated to degree level, and delivered pivotal admin support to a busy HR team. With experience of payroll data input and payroll calculations, you'll have a working knowledge of basic tax rules and payroll requirements, a deep appreciation of confidentiality, as well as having fantastic attention to detail and a logical approach. Numerate and confident with numbers, you'll enjoy creating reports using Microsoft Excel and presentations in PowerPoint.
You'll be super organised, efficient and love getting stuff done - that means making sensible decisions about priorities minute by minute. Resilient to changing priorities and managing a significant workload, you'll be flexible and enjoy working to regular tight deadlines. You'll have a desire to work hard on your own initiative whilst enjoying supporting a friendly and energetic team, and have a giggle along the way, even on the busiest of days!
You'll be able to relate to others, be compassionate and enjoy responding to email and face to face enquiries.
