House Parent
Welsh Gymnastics Ltd (WG) is the National Governing Body of the Sport in Wales and is responsible for the governance, development and elite performance of Gymnastics.
Since September 2015 our elite female gymnasts have been placed in a centralised system which involves twice a day training, school and living in centralised accommodation in Cardiff.
Welsh Gymnastics are seeking to appoint a house parent to provide a pastoral role for the gymnasts living in the house.
This is a live in role, with free accommodation, utilities and meals.
The House parent will have a duty of care over the gymnasts, based on the principle of loco parentis. Additional roles and responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring gymnasts attend all schedule training and school
- Manage the household duties (cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing etc)
- Support the girls in various domestic duties and homework
- Ensure gymnasts are in bed at an appropriate hour and wake up at the appropriate time to attend training/school on time
- Provide appropriate welfare, advice and support
- Attend meetings and provide regular updates and reports to Welsh Gymnastics Performance team
An enhanced DBS and references will be required as part of the recruitment process
