Design Team Leader

The Design Team Leader Role:

You will be responsible for Management of the design team, as well as design and artwork for Packaging, Point of Sale, NPD, Corporate Literature, Website Graphics & Population and External Charity Work. Production of graphic design for internal & external projects.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities as our Design Team Leader  include:

- Management of Team - Appraisals, Absence, Holidays etc

- Manage and assign workflow to team

- Design & Production of NPD & packaging concepts, final production and amends of labels.

- Design & Production of External Charity work

- Design & Production of Corporate Literature

- Help, support and teach Junior designers & artworkers.

Essential skills and experience  needed to become our Design Team Leader:

- Advanced experience using Apple Mac & Knowledge of the Hardware

- Good understanding of website population and functionality

- Advanced knowledge of adobe CC Design Software including Photoshop / Illustrator / Indesign / Acrobat

- Excellent ability to produce creative and innovative design to a high standard and to meet tight deadlines 

- Very high level of Design / Composition / Typographic / Conceptual skills

- Good knowledge of Microsoft Software including Word / Excel / Power point / Outlook

- Advanced knowledge of various print process including Digital / Lithographic / Flexographic / Screen

- Advanced knowledge of colour processes eg: CMYK / RGB / Pantone referencing

- A good knowledge of print drivers and how they work (setting up print jobs for internal printing)

- Advanced knowledge of artworking / setting files up for final print production

- Good knowledge of using a digital camera

- Excellent eye for photography composition & product photography

- Excellent Organisational skills & file management - filing and archiving artwork files.

- Self-Motivated and flexible to change

- Willing to Work overtime when required

- Ability to work to corporate/brand guidelines

- Training and / or experience in team management.

Qualifications:

- HND or BA in Design + minimum of 6 years' experience in the industry.

- Management Experience, enrolled in a management training course, or be prepared to undergo management training.
