Health Safety Environment & Quality Advisor
Location: Northern Region
Salary Range: £35,000

The Company was established in 1988 by a group of engineers committed to delivering the very best in both technical expertise and customer service. Since then it has grown from a relatively small refrigeration contracting business, to one that also included air conditioning, to one that today includes a full range of M&E services alongside refrigeration and air conditioning. Our commitment, however, remains the same.

Based in Bristol, with a network of regional offices throughout the UK, the company is well established and respected in the industry and carries out work for major blue chip clients which include Tesco, Sainsbury's, Marks and Spencer, Tulip Foods and The Samworth Brothers Group.

Brief:
* Ensure that company is legally compliant with all health, safety and environmental legislation as a minimum for your region
* Develop and assist with implementation of improvements to drive continual improvement and establish company as industry leaders in health, safety and environmental matters
* Advise and Support Managers on Health Safety Environment and Quality issues

Key Skills Required:

Relationship Building
* Builds an effective working relationship with both external and internal stakeholders
* Must be able to work in a wider team collaboratively to ensure the business objectives are met and that HSEQ is at the forefront of operations

Planning and Organising
* Ability to work both as part of a team as well as on own initiative
* Understanding of the importance of making key decisions and time management
* Ability to anticipate & manage issues as they arise

Managing Relationships
* Direct Report to The Head of HSEQ
* Manages the relationship with key stakeholders within the business as well as with subcontractors and clients
* Working as part of a team, provide support, share knowledge.

Communication
* Great communicator both orally and written
* Produce reports on key issues and present to the Head of HSEQ
* Take active role in Client forums

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
* Act as the company recognised Health, Safety Environmental and Quality matters for the Northern Region
* Deliver monthly reports to the Head of HSEQ and report on progress of agreed targets and objectives
* Support the Head of HSEQ in respect to external accreditations including 9001, 14001 and 18001
* Undertake internal audits
* Undertake site inspections and site visits as appropriate
* Deliver internal courses as applicable to upskill employees and subcontractors on relevant topics
* Support Line Mangers in accident / Incident Investigations
* Attend 'Safe Space Group' meetings
* Represent company at Client forums and be actively involved in working groups to develop industry leading practices and promote the company as industry leaders
* Manage day to day operational aspects of the region
* Engage with employees at all levels to devise solutions to problems to enable tasks to be undertaken safely
* Develop client / contractor relationships to enable proactive collaborative approach to our work undertaken on third party sites
* Stay up to date with industry best practices and actively investigate new ways of working to reduce risk
* Develop safe systems of work and associated risk assessments for tasks undertaken
* Ability to Problem Solve and come up with solutions, a 'can do' approach to challenges
* Good Organisational skills

* Additional ad-hoc tasks as required
