Production Manager

Due to continued expansion the Company are seeking a Production manager located from their Ellesmere Port site.

Job Purpose:
To effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily targets in line with customer specifications, minimising costs where possible and ensuring that the required best working practices are maintained at all times.

Main Duties:
- Ensure that the target productivity level is achieved on a daily basis, by minimising waste and through the effective management of staffing levels and skills on the appropriate lines.
- Oversee all OEE key performance indicators introducing best practice where possible.
- Maintain total compliance with customer specifications and ensuring that the appropriate paperwork is completed.
- Produce and update the production plan on a daily basis, communicating the requirements for the day to all departmental supervisors.
- Effectively manage all departmental personnel ensuring that compliance with current employment legislation is maintained.
- Oversee the allocation of annual leave and agency recruitment in order that production demands are not jeopardised by under staffing.
- Maintain the appropriate departmental health and safety procedures at all times including ensuring that the necessary PPE is worn by all staff.
- Review and update the training requirements of the department in line with current legislation and changing departmental operations.
- Employee issues including discipline in line with company policy and liaison with HR.
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of production areas in line with customer and technical requirements.
- Constantly assess the product specifications maintaining best quality products at all times and implementing changes where necessary.
- Communicate and liaise with other Departmental Managers regarding throughput of stock and to ensure production targets are met.

Production Manager - The Person:
- 2 to 3 years' management gained within in a fast paced production environment or 5 years line manager experience in a production environment.
- Minimum of 5 GCSE's at grades A-C including Maths and English.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Excellent communicator (verbal & written).
- An enthusiastic approach and desire to get things done.
- Excellent problem solving, team working and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to continually assess and improve the quality and effectiveness of all activities.
- Due to the location of the site own transport is essential.

The salary for this role will be between £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience.
