This long established manufacturing company is seeking to recruit a highly self-motivated, conscientious and committed individual who has a do it now & can do attitude to produce high quality elastomer moulded products to specification and target.
Based in the Aberdeen Workshop, reporting to the Shift Team Leader the position's main responsibilities are;
- Preparing and maintaining the work area ensuring that the work are is clean, tidy and free from obstruction, debris and that all ladders and platforms are secure and sound.
- Preparation and control of raw materials to ensuring that the correct raw material is used, checking against the job specification and job traveller.
- Control raw materials used and ensure that they are identified, stored, and handled in the appropriate manner.
- Visually inspect raw materials for obvious contamination and to identify and report any suspect batches
- Prepare for moulding, reading all sections of the job specification and familiarise yourself with the product being made, the quality standard and output target.
- Prepare the press and mould and check operating settings and compare against actual settings. Checking actual temperatures and always referring back to the job specification.
- Carry out safety checks and record on machine safety checklist.
- Fill in control charts where applicable recording production/reject levels and control limits hourly.
- Report any out of control conditions to your supervisor i.e. above stated reject level.
- Report any problems with the product to your supervisor such as parts difficult to trim or that feel too soft or too hard, or a high reject level.
- Be aware of problem areas within the process and react positively should any occur.
- Rotation will be dependent on the production plan and is the responsibility of the Team Leader to assign roles/job tasks.
- Liaise with the oncoming shift at handover and pass on any information that can help maximise our output, such as problems with the machine and actions taken.
- Completion of documentation, work sheets and job traveller.
- The maintenance of, adherence to and improvement of the quality systems and procedures, including but not restricted to continual ISO 9001 compliance.
- Develop, support and actively encourage a culture of continual improvement by suggesting improvement programmes that involve team members and other employees.
- Support all company functions and personnel in the timely and effective delivery of all business goals and objectives.
- Support, encourage and implement a 'make it happen' and 'do it now' culture.
- Lead by example and demonstrate role model traits at all times.
Candidate must be able to work shifts, which is cover over a three shift rotation pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm & 10pm-6am) rotating each week.
