Senior Developer / Web Development Manager - Hertford

A unique opportunity to be part of an award winning digital agency in Hertfordshire that has ambitious plans for growth.

They are looking for someone with a passion for web development the ability to inspire and grow their small team of Web Developers while creating a culture of best practice. They need you to have proven management experience and the ability to lead on technical pitches, briefs, costings and resource management.

You will have advanced web development skills in a range of environments, ideally in an agency setting. As well as responsibility for the in-house and outsourced development teams, you will be a hands-on developer able in WordPress through to Magento and bespoke projects.

You'll be the 'voice' who represents the development team in the wider business and working closely with the Company Directors to facilitate the company's future growth plans.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Scoping project requirements and supporting the sales team with new business pitches
- Take ownership of projects and code quality while delivering to agreed deadlines
- Manage, train and motivate the development team
- Interacting with clients and internal stakeholders
- Elements of project management e.g. requirements gathering, accurate time estimates, resource management
- While this is a management role, you will also be very hands-on in developing projects
- Support existing clients with their website maintenance requirements

Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years commercial experience
- Excellent knowledge of HTML/CSS/Javascript
- Extensive experience of WordPress and Magento
- Good knowledge of PHP and MySQL
- Experience leading a team of web developers
- Proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills

It is also highly desirable to have experience of frameworks such as jQuery, Laravel, Symphony, Angular, Node as well as version control and Linux.
