Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Assistant

An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic forward thinking, design, distribution and installation company specialising in steel floor decking systems throughout the United Kingdom.  Operating out of modern offices in Dinnington, Sheffield, the company has experienced sustained growth and are looking to enhance the Commercial  team with the addition of a new Quanity Surveyor/Commercial Assistant.

The successful candidate will be working in a team of two, to assist the Commercial Director with:

Accurately taking off material quantities from construction drawings

Preparation and issuing of interim valuations/final accounts

Preparing cost reconciliations reports for Commercial Director

Updating summary spreadsheets

Administration of commercial paperwork

Review/Process  labour wages

Review/Process Sub-Contractor Invoices and complete Payment Certs

Key Skills

Good IT knowledge - experience / knowledge of Microsoft Excel essential

Good level of numerical / financial understanding

Understanding of construction drawings - distinct advantage, but not essential

Commercially aware

CAD experience is an advantage but not essential

Able to work effectively on their own or as part of a team

Good organisational and communication skills

Attention to detail

Annual Salary: Dependant on experience

Hours:   Mon-Thur 8.30-5.00

                Fri 8.30 - 3.45    

                Lunch 3/4hrs
