Finance Officer

Salary: £14,866 - £17,488 per annum

Hours of Work: 37 Hours per Week Monday - Friday


We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Finance Officer to join our dedicated Finance & Enrolments team.

The Primary roles are to administrate the College Purchasing function alongside other financial duties and ensure the accurate and timely recording of enrolment data. Your main duties will include:

  • Provide course information, advise on remission eligibility and payment options
  • Advise and monitor Student Loan applications, and other payment plans
  • Effect the fee collection and credit control function in accordance with College Policy; processing timely reminder letters and liaising with students, organisations and College staff to collect all due debts.
  • To perform the day to day Purchase Ledger function for the College
  • To monitor and maintain accurate commitments against non-pay budgets; advising the Finance Operations Manager of potential overspends, and to ensure monthly checks are performed to clear unnecessary Purchase Order lines
  • During the busy period in September you may be asked to work the occasional evening.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:

  • 4 GCSE's (or equivalent) including Maths and English at Grade C
  • Proven experience of working with figures, monetary amounts and payments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to cope within a pressured environment
  • Proven organisational and administrative skills
