Our Client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.
They currently have an opportunity available for a Lecturer in Horticulture to join them based at their York campus. This is a full time, permanent position.
Within the role you will carry out lecturing duties for HE Horticulture sessions (up to Level 6) where key modules will be Plantsmanship, Design and Landscape construction as well as Science and Technology, Plant Establishment and Maintenance and Land use and Social Interaction. Participating in training and development courses, research, secondment and personal contact in order to keep up to date in technical and education expertise, you will complete administrative responsibilities and act as Course Manager if required.
They are looking for someone who is qualified to degree level or equivalent in horticulture, and who has experience of working within the horticulture industry. With a range of horticulture experience, you will have practical design and landscaping skills and a teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards one).
Above all, you will be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst having a self-motivated and enthusiastic approach.
