Not sure if you want to go to university? Deciding what to do with such little exposure of the world of work can be daunting, so that's why we're looking to recruit a HR Assistant as an apprentice to join us and learn more about the world of human resources and begin building a career in Experian.
The HR Assistant will work as an apprentice as part of our PeopleExpress and Employee Relations team, who provide first line HR advice to managers and employees on all lifecycle employment issues, policy and HR processes resolving or escalating as needed. The team are also responsible for providing Employee Relations case support for formal procedures such as grievance, attendance and disciplinary and redundancy procedures and support specific change projects.
You'll be learning on the job and we'll support you through your Level 5 HR qualification (CIPD) after you have been with the business for a few months and have started to get to grips with the role!
What does a HR Assistant do?
We'll train you on everything you need to know, but here's an idea on what you can expect to be responsible for:
  • Providing advice to employees and managers across the full HR remit such as family friendly processes, pay and benefits, flexible working, employment changes and visa/immigration
  • Working as part of the wider team to deliver People Express services meeting key performance measures and service levels
  • Once more established in the role you will start to support managers with formal processes such as absence management and performance
  • Updating policies to ensure Experian remains compliant
  • Understand and participate in Performance for Growth ensuring stretching personal objectives, a personal development plan and regular self and team feedback
  • Actively contribute to a culture that achieves the business goals, delights customers and keeps consumer advocacy at the heart of everything we do
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements within role responsibility and escalate issues quickly

  • GCSEs including Maths and English at C or above
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Desire to complete a level 5 professional qualification
  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information in a discrete and professional manner
  • Team player, you must be able to work collaboratively
  • You could also be degree educated in a field outside of HR, looking to move into something different
