Chef / Pizzaiola

Pizzeria Santaniello, is one of Bedford's longest established restaurants. It is a very popular and extremely busy restaurant especially at weekends.

We require a young and enthusiastic trainee chef to support the head chef and assist the kitchen staff. Some previous catering experience desirable but - not essential.

Training will be provided on site to learn the difficult art of Pizza Making using a traditional wood burning Pizza oven. Training can/ will be provided for general catering including college attendance, if required, to gain catering and Health and Safety qualifications.

Duties:

• Supporting the head chef, including hand stretching the pizza bases.

• Prepare the raw dough and make up dough balls.

• Preparation of all ingredients for pizza's, salads and sauces.

• General kitchen duties, including making salads and desserts.

• Weekend working will be required

• Candidate should be keen, hard-working and have ambition to make a career in catering and in particular develop into a top Pizza Chef.
