This is a great opportunity for a Home Support Worker / Personal Assistant to join a leading and unique domiciliary care provider based in Portsmouth, who provide a niche long term conditions service enabling those with a lifelong disability to remain living at home for as long as possible.
Our client focuses on the delivery of care at home to people with long term conditions, with aspects of nursing, rather than social care that is short pop in visits. They ensure to conduct Introductory visits and person centred on-site training for each individual you will work with.
This ensures service users will only be cared for by trained and familiar people.
This role is also unique in the sense that there is no travelling between clients so you can fully commit your time and energy to one person per day, this ensures you can thoroughly enjoy your time with them and support them in achieving their goals.
Contracts are available for 24 hours (2 x shifts) or 36 hours (3 x shifts)
Responsibilities
• One to one care and support to people in their own homes and in the community
• Additional basic nursing skills (where relevant) - staff will be taught these for each individual service user
• Helping individuals to access and participate in the community to reach their goals
• Long shifts to build meaningful relationships and no travel between service users
• Provide support, empathy and companionship for the clients
• Personal care – washing, bathing, changing pads
• Prompting and administering medication according to a care plan
• Hoisting clients in and out of their beds
• Feeding back concerns and risks to the office
Whilst experience is not essential, our client is looking for a positive attitude, a genuine passion for helping others and the drive to develop your skills and grow within this role.

All applicants will be required to complete a DBS security check ( if your current DBS is older than 3 months) through the Disclosure and Barring Service, which the clients will help you to do.
