Job Scope:

  • The primary purpose of this role is to support the Head of Senior Talent Development in the creation, implementation and ongoing management of Group Talent Development Programmes and Initiatives. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of programme activity and stakeholder liaison. It is expected that the role will also provide occasional support to other areas of the Group Talent Development team, as part of the overall talent approach.

Principal Accountabilities:

Support the Head of Senior Talent Development in ensuring the overall effective running of the Group Talent Development operation, including:

  • Programme management of Group Talent programmes; project management, quality assurance, clear and effective communications, with both internal participants and suppliers
  • Management of Group Talent Development Initiatives
  • Creative input to the design of new programmes and initiatives; able to understand the programme or initiative purpose, and propose appropriate creative solutions
  • Internal stakeholder relationship management; consult and communicate professionally and effectively with multiple internal stakeholders
  • Management of external supplier relationships and resources; negotiating fees, managing contracts, communicating professionally and ensuring quality
  • Provide occasional support to other areas of the Group Talent team, as part of the overall talent approach; able and willing to contribute to the wider talent agenda

Core Competencies Required:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working within a Talent Development environment and be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

A practical/operational understanding of the talent and leadership development agenda and experience in supporting development activity design, implementation and evaluation within a complex business structure

  • Demonstrates initiative and takes proactive actions to resolve issues
  • Highly focussed attention to detail and accuracy in all work
  • Proven track record of delivering programmes and projects
  • Ability to manage own time well, prioritise own activities and work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to effectively and proactively consult with multiple and diverse stakeholders, often with conflicting demands
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Expert in Microsoft Office programmes, Powerpoint in particular
  • Enthusiasm to work in a busy, motivated team and to contribute ideas and views
