This not-for-profit organisation is looking to recruit a driven, experienced and strategic IT Manager to join their newly created in-house Business Change and IT Team. You will need to be prepared to 'grab the bull by the horns' in not only getting to grips with their current IT infrastructure, systems, assets and 3rd party vendors, you'll also need to be able to think smart in putting together and presenting IT strategies and management plans to take them into the 21st Century. It'll then be down to you to plan, deliver and maintain the IT from top to bottom, working alongside the IT Director.

The successful candidate must be dynamic with a willingness to learn and get involved at all levels. A solid and proven track record within the IT sector is essential, with Project Management and delivery experience being essential to this role. Be prepared however to work at both ends of the spectrum from 1st through to 3rd line: one day you may be planning or indeed implementing a migration to Office 365 or Microsoft Azure, the next day you may however be required to rollout a load of thin clients or image a bunch of laptops.

To be successful in this role you must have a solid understanding of modern IT technologies (Windows Server 2012/2016, Office 365, SaaS) and enterprise systems (SANs, VLANs, Hyper-V Clusters), along with a concept and understanding of telecoms and connectivity (SIP, Leased Lines, MPLS, Managed WiFi). It's essential that the successful candidate can manage multiple projects simultaneously as well as having a flexible, can-do attitude coupled with an eagerness to learn and to help where required even if it falls outside of the job description!

In a nutshell, you will be responsible for the smooth running and upkeep of the entire IT infrastructure across their 4 sites.

Essential Experience
- Proven experience administering a Windows Server environment, to include up to date versions for both Workstation and Server operating systems (Windows XP-Windows 10, Server 2003-2016).
- Have previously worked with a virtualised server environment and be competent in managing such environments (Hyper-V clustering experience advantageous).
- Have a comprehensive understanding of Layer 3 switching config and administration (Experience with Cisco switches).
- Office 365 administration and support; including and not limited to Exchange and SharePoint.
- Understanding of firewalls (Ideally WatchGuard) and NAT. This will include configuration, administration and clustering.
- Experience using MDT and WDS for OS deployment.
- Experience of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP administration.
- Competent in using Microsoft Windows PowerShell.
- Be willing and able to challenge the status quo with their current vendor/supplier base.
- The ability to create, manage and maintain IT policies, documentation and best-practice.
- A comprehensive understanding of Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and the cost of business downtime and disruption.
