The Operations team sits at the heart of Ipsos MORI being responsible for the delivery of research projects for each of the specialisms of the business.

The Data Processing team are responsible primarily for scripting and processing areas within Operations and are split between both Ipsos MORI London offices (Harrow & St. Katherine docks).

We are recruiting for a Senior Data Processing Executive with a proven track record in analysis using Quantum. There will also be an option for scripting involvement (using Dimensions). Our data processing team work with data from all modes and in various formats. They work across all market sectors, although sub teams tend to concentrate on specific areas.

Members of the team have considerable experience of all aspects of data processing, including data imputation, writing data validation programs and producing datasets for large and complex surveys. In addition, we have a couple of members whose focus is process development, automation and complex project delivery work on bespoke data deliveries and automation. We work closely with Researchers and with excellent communication skills, we ensure we have a good rapport across the business. Without question, we have one of the most experienced and knowledgeable data processing teams in the UK market research industry.

Responsibilities & Deliverables:

  • To produce accurate analysis of market research questionnaires
  • To recode and restructure data to formats required by internal and external clients
  • Organisation and delivery of complex projects and resolve problems swiftly
  • To write basic logic routine checks to follow questionnaire routing
  • To participate in job set-up meetings to ensure clear understanding of project requirements
  • To advise researchers on the most efficient way, from a Data Processing perspective to produce data and analysis deliverables
  • Engage and support team work and collaboration
  • To produce accurate data collection scripts of market research questionnaires
  • To set-up and activate CATI and offline CAPI projects including quota set-up and working with sample files
  • To advise researchers on the most efficient way, from a Data Processing perspective to produce data collection scripts

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent level qualification
  • Significant scripting and data processing experience required in a market research agency or related area is essential
  • Excellent knowledge and proven track record in Quantum
  • SPSS statistics (including syntax)
  • Good Microsoft office skills essential in particular MS Excel 2016
  • UNIX/LINUX skills desirable but not essential
  • SQL experience and other programming (e.g. Python) experience useful but not essential
  • Excellent communication and team work skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Knowledge and proven track record in UNICOM (previously IBM SPSS Data Collection) aka Dimensions IOM including some experience of writing functions and subroutines and working with non-Dimensions objects such as database connections
  • Dimensions IOM for offline CAPI experience desirable but not essential
  • Dimensions IOM for offline CATI experience including Quota set-up and working with sample files desirable but not essential
  • Sample management scripting desirable but not essential
  • Experience of HTML, CSS & JavaScript desirable but not essential
