The role of the Business Analyst is to represent the requirements of the Dunelm business user and customer within technology and process solutions. The Business Analyst will work closely with the Business end users, IT Services, Architecture, the Project team and external suppliers, to ensure that an effective solution is deployed into the estate. The department's activities are focused around the delivery of IT system development projects into the business by providing the best service that we can to our customer. This role forms part of a team of cross functional Business Analysts that work across multi department/channel projects. Main Responsibilities: Understand the As Is. This analysis will usually include creating process documentation and could also include work observation as well as delivering analysis of the market, data, stakeholders and reporting. Capturing business functional and non-functional requirements via interviewing and workshop facilitation. Documenting business requirements and gaining stakeholder sign off. Trace requirements throughout design, build and test phases. Gain stakeholder agreement and sponsor sign off. Work with the project manager to define scope and gain stakeholder agreement. Design the to be business process and gain stakeholder agreement. Contribute to the Solution Design with the Business, IT Services, Architecture, the Project team and external suppliers. To ensure that the knowledge base is transitioned from the projects team into the business. To respond and support any incidents which are raised relating to the project during warrantee. To identify and have a good working relationship with all stakeholders and business users involved within the project. To support the end users with training and associated documentation as needed. To support the test team, especially to understand the fit criteria and priority of requirements. To support the creation of the business case and any associated proposal documents, including the following aspects to ensure that the proposed solution will provide the business with the best value for money: The business benefits for the proposed solution. Any 3rd party supplier costs. The returns of investment against any spend. Supporting the PM with the quality gate processes to ensure that deliverables and the project stays on track and to budget. Identification and management of any risk or issues which may be noted during the project's life span. Support the PMO team with understanding risk and system touch points. Review any 3rd party supplier design and specification documents and provide feedback as required. Support the creation of any technical design specifications which may be required by the internal business or 3rd party software provider. You Must Have: The ability to perform the tasks asked and prioritisation of tasks when needed. At least 2-3 years' experience as a BA, with a proven track record of carrying out requirements analysis and definition. Have experience of: Methodologies such as BPMN, UML and BDD. Requirements catalogue and requirements traceabilty. Process design and documentation with Visio Have a proven track record of project delivery and a number of projects delivered into the live estate business. Have a good understanding of the Retail business world. Business operation understanding related to operational working practices. Be a good communicator (verbal and written). Have specific experience of at least 2 of the following business functions: - Retail Store (Ordering and Stock Management - Merchandising/Buying - Finance - Warehousing (eWMS) - HR/Payroll - Contact Centre - Business Reporting Be a confident user of spreadsheets/word processing/drawing and mapping/planning software System Knowledge of at least two of the following: - SAP / PI / BW - ePos - Web - Salesforce - Telephony Desirable: Hold the ISEB Business Analyst Foundation / Practitioner stage Zetes / Sharepoint
