Plant Quality Engineer
Our chosen business partner is experiencing a steady period of growth. They are leading manufacturer of heating products and are approaching an extremely busy period with winter around the corner.
Main Purpose
To ensure their products and processes meet the company's quality, technical and health & safety standards through collection and analysis of data. To take part in, and actively promote, continuous improvement activities for line side quality.
Key Responsibilities
Work with Operational staff to ensure procedures, standards and systems are maintained, improved and monitored.
Collection of lineside rejects and investigation into failures.
Working with suppliers to correct/prevent product issues.
Collection of production data to feed into data driven improvement activities.
Support operations teams to ensure process and product requirements are met.
Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Product and process auditing.
To provide flexibility to support the Company's manufacturing patterns.
Key Requirements
Ability to build close working relationships at all levels.
Previous experience of working in a Quality/CI environment.
Attention to detail.
Use of measuring equipment (Digital callipers, micrometers, CMM).
Root cause analysis tools (8D, cause and effect/Ishikawa, SEA, 5 Whys).
Excellent time management and organisation skills.
Use of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
Reading engineering drawings.
Welding & Metallurgical experience or qualification (desirable).
Working knowledge of zero defects/lean philosophy.
Experience of improvement tools (FMEA, SPC).
