We are looking for a Distributor Support Engineer to give technical support and training to service organisations supporting the installation base of a Cambridge based company.
Responsibilities
* To communicate technically with Distributors / Service agents and Customers and ensure issues are resolved promptly
* To ensure that any on-going issues are escalated promptly to line management team / RandD.
* To advise on the training requirements of the Distributors / Service Agents and Customers
* To ensure that the Distributor and Service agents are working to current documentation and processes and ensure that upgrades are planned fitted and trained.
* To provide regular reports on Distributor and Service agent performance.
* To provide regular reports on Customer and Equipment performance.
* Assist other Distributors / Service agents and Customers in other regions as and when required by the line management team.
* To make recommendations to the Line Manager for service improvements for cost savings and efficiencies contributing to the overall commercial performance of the department.
* To Supervise necessary resource in within region : Planning Assignments, overseeing work activities etc and ensuring local resource is technically up to date and competent to complete assignments.
* To become familiar with, and adhere to, the Company and Parent Company processes, policies and procedures.
Requirements
* HNC / HND in Mechanical / Electrical and /or Electronics Engineering and equivalent practical experience and tuition. Ideally BEng
* A working knowledge of PLCs, Control Engineering. Expertise in Automated equipment / Robots is key for this role to help support new product technology in the field.
* Previous experience providing field service support or technical support for a large and complex mechanical/electro product.
* Skilled in the use of MS Office suite and other reporting tools. Operating systems include Service Max
