An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Accounts Assistant to join The Money Doctors Ltd based in Birmingham.

The Money Doctors Ltd provides Accountancy, Administration and Financial Management all under one roof. The company covers all aspects of efficient time and money management, from simple form-filling to complex tax planning from personal expenditure planning to practice management.

We are looking for a motivated and focussed individual who will demonstrate excellent communication skills, drive and a ‘can do attitude’. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in accounting, if you think you meet our criteria we would like to meet you.

As a Trainee Accounts Assistant your duties will include:

  • Processing sales and purchases invoices into Sage & Excel
  • Collection of clients cheques and banking of cheques
  • Inputting cheque information into sage & Excel
  • Sending invoice copies to debt controller
  • Regular communication with clients – monthly basis
  • Performing income distribution schedules and bank transfers
  • Raising cheques for the payment run
  • Taking direct debit payments from the clients
  • Sending receipts to clients
  • Resolving client queries when necessary
  • Liaising with consultants secretaries - obtaining relevant document and information
  • Chasing insurance providers (if necessary ) - obtaining overdue remittance advices
  • Sending out letter headed boxes
  • Sending payroll reports to clients
  • And other ad-hoc duties

Additional duties may include:

  • Answer the telephone when needed

An ideal Trainee Accounts Assistant will hold the following skills and experiences:

  • AAT level 2
  • Knowledge of a similar industry would be an advantage
  • Computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to communicate, both orally and written, in the English language
  • Ability to work to targets and take responsibility
  • Confident individual who has an interest to learn
  • Self-motivated and hardworking
  • An individual who is capable to work as part of team
  • Good communication skills
  • Admirable work ethic with an enthusiastic approach
  • Reliable & dependable to complete the task in hand

In return you will receive a starting salary up to £13,650 per annum plus study support.
