I have an opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineering Senior Estimator for major Water Treatment projects.
They are a Main Contractor who play a significant keyrole within the AMP 6 Water Framework throughout the UK.
You would be working with key clients such as United Utilities and various Local Authority figures.
Requirements:
- Degree Qualified (or equivalent) in relevant background
- from a Civil Engineering background; Water Industry, Heavy Civils, Reinforced Concrete Structures, Drainage, Highways, Bridges, Earthworks.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Estimating role.
- Good I.T. skills - MS Word, Excel, MS Project (or P6), and knowledge of AutoCad would be an advantage
- Range of Estimating software experience.
- Must be capable of reading drawings, specifications and other documents and be able to produce materials "take offs", Bills of Quantities and sub-contract packages
- Needs to have a clear methodical approach, capable of working to deadlines, good communication skills and be a team player.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing and understanding the requirements of the tender documents.
- Attending site visits with the other members of the assigned bid team.
- Attending meetings with the assigned bid team to agree and sign off specific resource requirements and outputs.
- Liaison with the estimating buyer to ensure price procurement of materials and subcontracts by due date.
- Liaison with the Client representative to obtain clarifications or further information.
- Reviewing the clients pricing schedules and understand the linkage/formula's in arriving at the net price.
- Production of Bill of Quantities/Schedules if required.
- Build up's of cost of resources for all activities to produce most competitive net cost.
- Builds up's for Supervision and other On-costs.
- Building up a fee table in the case of framework contracts.
- Compilation and assessment of risks for inclusion with those of other bid team members into risk register.
- Compilation of pricing clarifications for inclusion with tender submission.
- Production of the tender breakdown (Tender Prelims & Tender Summary) for discussion and agreement at the tender adjudication.
