Our client specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of leading architectural metalwork solutions. Due to internal promotion, they’re now looking for a Buyer to join their team in Smethwick.

The Role: 

As a Buyer, you will oversee our client’s buying function. 

Reporting to the Commercial Director and Works Director, you will: 

- Manage supply to ensure that manufacturing and installation workflows are completed within set timeframes 
- Purchase materials, including steel and glass, fixings and consumables for the best price 
- Source and manage suppliers 
- Manage and prioritise individual department requirements 
- Liaise with goods inward/yard staff to ensure all goods are correctly booked in and logged 
- Utilise the internal MRP system 
- Occasionally travel to visit suppliers 

About You: 

To be considered, you will need: 

- Buying and/or purchasing experience, gained within a manufacturing environment 
- Excellent organisational skills 
- A proactive approach 
- Superb time-management and prioritisation abilities 
- A strategic mindset 

Experience within steel manufacturing would be beneficial, but this is by no means essential. 

Other companies may call this role Buyer, Purchasing Manager, Manufacturing Buyer, Supply Chain Manager or Senior Purchasing Executive. 

Our client is eager to hear from candidates who have experience as a Purchasing Co-ordinator, Supply Chain Executive, Procurement Executive or Procurement Co-ordinator. 

Please note, this is a full time role, working 8:00 – 17:30, Monday – Thursday and 7:00 – 14:30 on Friday.
