Job Title: Copywriter
Location: Carterton
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum
Position: Permanent, Full Time

The organisation, an animal charity helping to rescue, care for, and rehome pets, is looking for a copywriter with demonstrable experience to join the in-house Creative Services Team. As the only in-house writer in the Carterton team, this is a fantastic opportunity to help bring the Blue Cross tone of voice to life across a huge variety of digital and offline channels, including communications to supporters, volunteers and other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing engaging copy and creative concepts for a range of marketing and communication materials from concept development through to sign off, both on and offline.
- Working closely with their other creatives/designers, both internal and external, to answer creative briefs with effective and appropriate solutions, within timescale and budget.
- Ensuring that the messaging need is identified at the outset of projects, responding with copy that is best suited to the audience and includes an impactful and appropriate call to action.
- Working with their Editors to define, support and promote the organisation's tone of voice and house style consistently across all channels, liaising with agencies and colleagues to ensure this is achieved.
- Providing quality control through effective editing and proofing.
- Providing scripting and transcribing for video projects.
- Taking the lead on projects and meetings as required.
Key Requirements:
- The ability to write compelling headlines and copy for digital and print, working quickly and to tight deadlines
- Exceptional grammar and use of the English language
- Experience of fundraising, marketing and direct response writing
- Experience in the development of cross channel campaigns
- Experience of working in a fast moving, busy agency or studio environment
- Exceptional proofreading skills
- Demonstrable experience of working with a brief to develop creative ideas and concepts, and presenting to clients
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management - capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- The ability to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
Desirable:
- An understanding of the importance of, and effective use of brand.
- Experience in pitching/presenting ideas to teams.
- A basic understanding of InDesign and Acrobat.
- Comfortable learning new software skills.
