Overview

We have a number of opportunities for experienced Social Workers to join one of our three Child Protection & Court Teams. These challenging but rewarding roles will see you working directly with children and young people who are at risk of significant harm, ensuring that the voice of the child is always heard and listened to. You can choose to be based in Aylesbury, Amersham or High Wycombe.

We know your skills are highly sought after so we're offering a 6% market factor salary enhancement if you choose Bucks. You will also receive a Golden Hello payment of GBP2,125 upon your one year work anniversary; car allowances of GBP600 per annum (paid monthly), and a Relocation Allowance up to GBP8,000 (if applicable)*. About the role

The work you'll do is varied and involves all aspect s of managing child protection and court proceedings. Working closely with colleagues in our Children in Need teams, you'll work directly with families and other professionals. You can expect to:

  • Work with children who have child protection plans (experience of court work is essential)
  • Work with looked after children and permanency planning
  • Manage child protection care proceedings
  • Attend court
  • Write reports and assessments
  • Manage complex cases and care plans
  • Safeguard children under the Child Protection or Court Frameworks
  • Undertake Section 47s and risk assessments
  • Mentor and supervise students and be an allocated worker for children
  • Chair Core Groups

About you

To make a great CP & Court Social Worker, you'll bring your experience and knowledge of all of the above with you and be confident with court proceedings. In these busy, fast paced teams, you'll get on best if you are flexible and able to work well under pressure. You will work closely with colleagues from various teams and build positive links between your team and other parts of the service to ensure effective multi-professional working. You will hold a degree in social work (DipSW) and registered with the HCPC.
