Project Manager
New opportunity not to be missed. NFER is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Project Manager to join the team based in Slough. Joining us on either a full time permanent or full time contract basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £34,240 - £38,537 per annum depending upon qualifications and experience. There are a number of posts available, some of which are to cover maternity leave.
We are looking for energetic, detailed focused, experienced ‘hands on’ Project Managers who want to manage the operational aspects of a wide range of research and assessment projects. As the Project Manager, you will work with a range of teams across NFER, be able to tackle all sort of operational projects using Prince 2 project management techniques, and be part of helping NFER achieve its mission to improve outcomes in education.
As the Project Manager, you will manage a range of projects, for example:
- A school engagement project for a randomised control trial
- Surveys and data collections
- A test development trial
- A marking project
- Large scale events
- Delivery of products for schools
You will also contribute to competitive tendering, pitching and other business development and service development activities. You will contribute to continually improving our processes and procedures and provide training for other members of the team.
The successful Project Manager will have direct experience of hands on project management roles and be able to demonstrate the ability to manage and motivate a team. A degree with some numerical content, a logical mind and the ability to learn new technology and complex processes are essential. The ability to assimilate information and translate complex requirements into administrative practicalities is also important.
Every project is different so we need a flexible team player who is committed to providing the best possible service to our customers. Work experience gained in education, testing or qualifications development would be an advantage as would Prince 2 practitioner status, or a willingness to undertake this training if needed.
