At FCO Services, the work you do will mean more. Government-level customers in the UK and around the world rely on us to keep information, assets and people safe. Join us in this corporate project management role, and your impact will be felt across the organisation as you work at a senior level developing strategies and delivery plans. Deliver high-profile projects alongside high-level colleagues You'll oversee a number of high-profile projects that fall within the remit of our Chief of Staff Office. These will include the FCO Services Clarity Programme, a two-year internal transformation project looking at how to make the organisation more business-savvy and efficient, and FCO Services' support to the Corporate Capability (service delivery) stream of a broader departmental-wide programme. Day to day, you will be working with senior figures in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and beyond to maintain project momentum and drive delivery. You will also influence solution design and implementation, and will be responsible for ensuring there is clear reporting for all relevant initiatives. Although based in Hanslope Park, you will be travelling to London once or twice a week (travel expenses will be covered). Take your Whitehall experience to the next level This role calls for an expert project manager with significant experience of delivering large business change and transition projects. It is desirable you have already spent some time working in Whitehall - ideally within the Foreign & Commonwealth Office itself - and so understand the political sensitivities associated with a government department. Prince 2 or equivalent would be an advantage, as would some experience of working for an executive agency or trading fund. We are looking for someone who is tenacious and determined, and who is happy taking on a broad spectrum of work within a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be an excellent leader and communicator who can persuade all kinds of people to work together and get things done. Broaden your experience and your horizons The fact that we keep information, assets and people safe all around the world gives every job here added significance. It also makes FCO Services a uniquely rewarding place to build a career. Not only will you gain senior-level exposure within the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, but you will also be able to develop a broad range of experience and potentially explore additional project management opportunities with us in the UK and overseas. All our employees have to be security cleared to the highest level, so you will need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.
