Do you want to work as a Systems Engineer within the Homeland Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection domain of one of the UK's leading defence companies?
My client is recruiting a Systems Engineer to work with a focus on large scale strategic integrated Security Surveillance and Control Systems including Electro-Optic and Radar Sensors, and Command and Control software.
You will have proven and extensive experience in all aspects of the Systems Engineering lifecycle of a solution which includes requirements capture, design, analysis/modelling, integration, test and acceptance.
Systems Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Creating and gaining agreement to top level solution documentation including solution presentations and system architecture/design documents
* Managing issues with the design, negotiating across the team, suppliers and where appropriate the customer to reach equitable and mutually acceptable conclusions consistent with company principles
* Ensuring that technical requirements are correctly flowed down to subsystems/subcontractors for all elements of the solution
* Ensuring that design integrity requirements (activities and deliverables) are correctly flowed down to subcontractors and internal providers
* Presentation of design reviews for the overall technical solution to both the customer and the Independent Technical Authority
Systems Engineer skills and experience include:
* Highly experienced in systems engineering
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Domain knowledge in at least 2 of the following technologies: Surveillance Radar; Electro-optics (CCTV and thermal imaging); Command and Control System Software; ICT and Networked systems
* Demonstratable competence in leading the development and implementation of complex technical solutions
* Demonstratable understanding of product safety with experience in conducting/supporting safety reviews and hazard identification and management
You will need to obtain a security clearance to fulfil the Systems Engineer role.
