We are currently seeking a 2D CAD Technician to join a leading Building Services practice on a 6 month contractual basis in Cambridgeshire. Our client has a wealth of knowledge and experience working on world renowned major projects for the Commercial, Rail, Defence, and Pharmaceutical and Healthcare sectors. The selected 2D CAD Technician will be working on a major scientific/pharmaceutical development, alongside a multi-disciplinary team of expert designers, engineers and technicians. You will have the responsibility of preparing plans, drawings and referencing files, and 2D model files. You will also be modifying existing designs and converting them to newer file formats, and ensuring compliance of your own and other's designs with the internal and external CAD systems and standards. You may also be required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure quality and specifications are being met.
Essential skills, experience and attributes:
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong knowledge and experience using Microstation, AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Working knowledge of data transfer from CAD to GIS formats
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Friendly and approachable attitude
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and work to strict deadlines
- Previous experience working on scientific or pharmaceutical projects would be preferable
