Permanent HGV1 / Class 1 Night Trunk Drivers- Full & Part-time Welcome
We are currently recruiting for permanent HGV 1 / Class 1 night trunk drivers- full time and part-time for our client in Chard.
Our client has new opportunities and are looking to recruit enthusiastic and committed team players to join their night operations driving team at their Chard Depot, a family owned and run, member of the Palletforce Network responsible for deliveries and collections across Dorset, Devon and Somerset. Their mission statement is to deliver loads of quality and we are looking for drivers to help us achieve this on a daily basis.
Reporting to the Transport Manager, the Night Trunk Driver will have key relationships with the Lead Night Trunk Driver, Palletforce Night Operation, Operations Staff & other Drivers.
The contract is for 48 hours per week normally worked over 5 nights (Monday to Friday), though some weekend working may be required to meet customer demands. The five day week may include a fully paid stand by day, depending on freight volumes and availability of drivers hours.

GBP31,000-GBP36,000 per year

The Role
Main Duties:
?? To drive Category C or C+E vehicle safely, legally and efficiently as required.
?? To comply with all driver's hours and Road Transport Directive legislation.
?? To load and unload vehicle and maintain safety and security of load at all times.
?? To carry out all necessary checks to ensure vehicle is safe and legal and to follow appropriate procedures if it is not.
?? To act as company ambassador when dealing with customers.
?? To complete all paperwork promptly and accurately as required
?? To input all necessary data, promptly and accurately, into the Alliance freight management system
?? To adjust routes when necessary and feedback to traffic office on any issues around load planning and routing.
?? To operate all vehicle systems including tail lifts, pallet trucks and in cab technology.
?? To comply with all Health & Safety requirements in depot, on road and at customers' premises and to take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times.
