Chair in Architecture

The Liverpool School of Architecture is seeking to appoint an energetic and forward-thinking Chair in Architecture to contribute to the future of the School in the context of an international and collaborative University. You will be an excellent and passionate researcher with an outstanding track-record of world-leading publications, with ambitious research plans for the future, including potential impact pathways. We particularly encourage applicants who will strengthen and/or complement one or more of our current research groupings: Acoustics, Architectural and Urban History, Digital Design Information and Innovation, Sustainable Environment and/or Architecture and the Visual Arts. However, applicants with other areas of research expertise, such as construction, tectonics and materiality are also encouraged to apply. Experience of winning major research council funding and/or a proven record of securing other sources of research income will be highly desirable.
You will have a Doctoral degree in Architecture, Architectural History and Theory, Environmental Sciences and other areas cognate to Architecture and extensive experience in organisational leadership in research, pedagogy or practice. You will have a key role in refining and implementing the research and pedagogic strategies for Architecture, ensuring an outward looking and international agenda in both teaching and research and have a strong impact focus. On behalf of Architecture you will also provide leadership within the wider School of the Arts and the University.
