Our client has a current opportunity for a proactive Senior Finance Officer- Purchase ledger to be responsible for ensuring accurate and prompt payment of suppliers for all Group companies and the accurate and efficient processing of purchase ledger documentation.

In this pivotal role you will be responsible for ensuring that purchase invoices are registered accurately on receipt and distributed as appropriate for approval and you will manage the payment process for all group companies ensuring that payment is prompt and as per agreed credit terms. In addition you will act as a key resource for the prevention of fraud within their payment systems and the wider organisation and deal with enquiries from suppliers and staff.

Their ideal candidate will have full AAT qualification or equivalent and you will have 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including Maths) grade C or above. Experience of managing and controlling a high volume purchase ledger function and knowledge of financial software packages including journal entry, Excel and Word is essential. An understanding of working with and assisting budget holders and up to date knowledge and understanding of financial regulations and changes in legislation requirements would be ideal. In addition problem solving and decision making skills are essential.

Due to the nature of the role you will be able to work flexibility out of office hours to meet deadlines where appropriate.
