Staffbase is recruiting for the position of Heavy Plant Fitter / Mechanic to undertake workshop based mechnical maintenance activities on a range of mobile plant at our client's busy production plant in Grantham.
The Role:
Reporting to the maintenance manager you will be responsible for ensuring that all mobile plant including forklift trucks, dumpers, tele-handlers, crawler tractors, bull dozers and other materials handling equipment is effectively maintained and kept in a serviceable condition.
Your plant inspection, service and maintenance duties will include but is not limited to the following;
Inspection, fault find and repair of diesel engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics and basic vehicle electric systems.
Provide running repairs to the fleet dealing with things like; greasing kin-pins, maintaining / replacing hoses, control levers, seat, attachments, clamps, masts etc.
Ensuring all necessary service, repair and inspection reports / documentation is accurately maintained.
Compliance with all relevant inspection and health and safety policies and procedures.
Candidates:
Applicants will have at least 3 years previous work experience in a similar role.
You will be familiar with working in a busy vehicle maintenance workshop environment and you will demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of diesel engines, vehicle hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical controls.
Ideally you will have valid vehicle maintenance / mechanical fitter qualifications however time-served fitters with a robust employment history will be most welcome.
