Our national Chambers and Legal 500 rated Construction and Engineering practice is growing. The team has over 30 quality lawyers who are also industry professionals and provide the full range of both transactional and dispute resolution advice encompassing everything from large complex international infrastructure projects to domestic construction contracts.

We advise on major capital projects from inception to completion and beyond; through the operational lifecycle of an asset, including front-end contract strategy, project documentation, regulatory matters, and risk management; through to all forms of dispute resolution including litigation in the Technology and Construction Court, adjudications, arbitrations, mediation and expert determination. Our clients are FTSE 250 companies that require our expertise with the successful implementation of large and complex projects across a variety of sectors including Transport, Energy, Retail and the Public Sector.

In Plymouth our Construction team is led by Chambers and Legal 500 rated Partner David Skelton. We currently have an opportunity for a lawyer to join David and his team to undertake both transactional and dispute resolution work across a broad spectrum of projects. The day to day work will reflect our diversity of those clients and projects but could include drafting, negotiating, reviewing and finalising the project documentation in relation to commercial developments, advising on complex issues of asset protection or acting for employers, contractors and consultants on adjudications (and everything in-between). The work is challenging and varied.

The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in developing a specialism in construction and engineering work. You will ideally have some experience in either transactional or disputes work, gained at either a large regional or city firm, and be able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of the wider team which is based in our London and regional offices. Experience of supervising and/or mentoring others would be helpful but as important is the ability to project manage transactions with minimal supervision and a client centric approach to all that you do. In return this role offers an unrivalled opportunity to learn from the best, to develop a career in a growing specialism, and to grow both professional and personally in a supportive environment.
