Artform: Music

Brighter Sound is looking for an inspirational, creatively minded, well organised individual to manage a major programme of creative music projects and activity across the North of England and nationally.

Brighter Sound has received funding from Arts Council England's Ambition for Excellence fund to deliver Both Sides Now , an ambitious programme to support, inspire and showcase female artists.

'Both Sides Now' focusses on the North of England with national and international programming spanning three years, working with an incredible range of partners, ambassadors and venues.

It combines residencies for the UK's best emerging musical talent, mentoring, projects for young musicians, digital resources for schools and education, industry training and apprenticeships, showcase events and artistic commissions, supported by inspirational artists.

We're excited about the scale, ambition and potential for 'Both Sides Now' to have a long-lasting and meaningful impact on female representation in the music industry - reframing perceptions, challenging stereotypes and influencing cultural, social and political change.

The role:

You will work as a central part of Brighter Sound's small, dedicated, ambitious team, providing an energetic, thorough and flexible presence and managing multiple creative music projects across the company's programme.

Working closely with the Head of Programmes you will have a main focus on the Both Sides Now programme and will play a key role in this ambitious and multi-faceted project. You'll support the logistical planning, development and successful delivery of the programme overseeing a wide range of projects in locations across the UK, and working extensively across our partnerships.

You will be highly organised, have strong initiative, good attention to detail, be highly motivated, communicative and a team player. You will have excellent, relevant experience of event, project and partnership management.

You will have a good knowledge of the music landscape, and creative learning through music which will range from artistic development for emerging professionals to projects with young people.

The post is connected to our three-year Ambition for Excellence programme and is subject to a six-month probationary period.
