A leading distributor of containers is looking for an Operations Manager to run their entire yard operation at their site in Avonmouth.

Client Details

Our client is a successful and growing organisation who specialise within the storage, maintaining and distribution of bespoke containers. As a direct result of their growth and continued success they are looking for an Operations Manager to run the entire yard operation for their site in Avonmouth.

Description

- Responsible for managing, motivating and coaching yard employees.
- Overseeing all necessary paperwork is completed accurately as requested, to include repair and job sheets
- Manage the routine and repair maintenance and modifications to units in a proficient and timely manner, and in line with high quality standards
- Manage the refurbishment of containers and accommodation units to the required standard and achieving target numbers.
- Manage any repair and service calls on customer sites providing exceptional customer service.
- Comply with company procedure when booking units in and out of the yard
- Ensure that any reported faults on workshop equipment is dealt with
- Supervise depot Forklift truck operations and ensure that all units are safely stacked.
- Supervise Yard Operatives and Sub Contractors to ensure their workload is prioritised so units are ready on time
- Responsible for planning where the equipment is in the yard
- Liaise closely with the office to ensure effective communication about the status of workload.
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and returned to the office including damage reports
- Oversee day to day stock levels
- Ensure that daily checks are carried out and documented on equipment
- Provide and organise training where required for yard team including new employees

Profile

- Strong leadership skills and previous supervisory experience is essential
- Previous experience in joinery, basic electrics, plumbing or welding is essential
- Valid Driving Licence
- CSCS would be an advantage
- Computer literate
- Flexible and willing to support the needs of the business
- Highly motivated with the ability and desire to make a difference
- Take ownership for improving safety standards and creating a safety first environment.
- Ability to communicate company information to the team ensuring they understand the company's values, goals and results.
- Be able to coach and support the yard team building a positive team environment
- Be passionate about providing exceptional customer service and putting the customer at the heart of everything they do.

Job Offer

Salary:

- GBP28,000 - GBP30,000

Shifts:

- Monday to Friday

Hours:

- 08:00 - 17:00 (must be flexible)
