The successful SENDCo will ensure access to the curriculum for all pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities within the academy and will be responsible for the effective co-ordination and identification of need, appropriate intervention and mentoring. You will also monitor and evaluate the impact of the interventions for all pupils requiring additional support.

About you:

You will be a qualified teaching professional with high professional standards. Able to demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies and teaching skills, you will be well organised and have high expectations of achievement and behaviour. You should have extensive knowledge of the SEND code of practice and either hold the NASENCO award or be willing to work towards it.

About us:

The City of Peterborough Academy was opened in September 2013 by the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a GBP13.8m capital build. Based on Reeves Way in Peterborough, the academy has quickly grown from strength to strength with the most recent Ofsted inspection in April 2015 judging the academy as "Outstanding". It noted pupil behaviour as "exemplary".

In return:

Working for GAT, means you can be assured that you will be contributing to our mission to enable every child to achieve their best. All our academies work collaboratively to share best practice and are supported by the expertise within the central team to enable them to focus on teaching and learning. As a GAT employee you will receive excellent opportunities for career progression and access to bespoke CPD from the Learning Alliance to enhance your professional growth.
