We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Analyst at our Bridgwater site. The successful candidate will carry out Laboratory duties in an efficient manner whilst ensuring that the highest quality, hygiene and safety standards are maintained. This role will involve working 5 days out of 7 including weekends.
Your Challenge:
* To carry out Laboratory duties in an efficient manner whilst ensuring that the highest quality, hygiene and safety standards are maintained.
* To carry out routine analysis and testing, ensuring that all tests are carried out correctly and corrective action taken if any samples fall outside specification.
* Undertake initial investigative work for out of specification results.
* Correct entry of results on the LIMS system and generate reports if required.
* Fill in laboratory paperwork and hygiene schedules.
* Follow escalation procedures and correctly report out of specification results.
* To keep working environment safe, clean and tidy.
* To ensure the correct handling of laboratory equipment
* Report & manage any equipment that is not functional.
* Ensure the equipment maintenance programme is followed and records maintained.
* Ensure maintenance procedures are fully documented.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Working under pressure in a fast paced production environment.
* Dealing with out of specification results / anomalies. Good performance in internal and external audits.
* Must be an organised and reliable team member with good communication skills.
* Maintain a good relationship with managers / team leaders of other departments.
* Be an effective team player.
* Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
* Flexible, able to work different shift patterns to include weekends on a rota.
* Full UK driving license.
