Development Engineer. Mechanical Engineer to lead R&D, design, prototype, test, full product development of existing and new products. Engineering SME, world leader in the development of flow measurement technology.
Salary Range: GBP25K - GBP45K depending on experience + company pension scheme, 35 hour working week and a 1.30pm finish on a Friday!

This Development Engineer job will suit:
- We are looking for a candidate that is passionate about engineering and will be excited about being able to really make your mark within an engineering SME.
- Their product range is electromechanical but currently has a definite mechanical bias therefore we are ideally looking for a mechanical engineer that can make a key contribution across the product development lifecycle.
- Experience of working within a role where you gained exposure to the following types of activities would be beneficial; R&D; design; prototype development; product testing; calibration; providing technical support to customers.
- If you like to solve problems, have an innovative brain, a knack for learning quickly and the will to push through perceived barriers then we are looking for somebody like you!

The job will involve:
- The Development Engineer role is truly varied covering the full product development lifecycle.
- You will identify, initiate and develop existing products and brand new commercially viable products.
- From a product development perspective you will play a key / lead role in R&D, design, prototype development, product testing, costing and technical decision making.
- Specific engineering activities will include rig testing of prototypes / products, performing engineering calculations e.g. stress, fluid mechanics, creating technical drawings and documentation.
- You will support customers, suppliers (typically sub contract manufacturers and commercial / production colleagues with technical advice.
