Exciting opportunity!

We are re-launching our nursery as a fully maintained nursery class from September 2017 and are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and experienced eyfs teacher. We have a team of experienced key workers and we are now seeking a teacher to lead the team. We are excited for the nursery to be a part of our school and welcome someone with their own ideas and the drive to make it successful.

We have a fantastic purpose built maintained nursery class in our grounds at Pilgrims Way School and are lucky enough to have a small cohort (currently the most is 14 children) of pre-school children starting in September. We are able to take 26 children and are keen for someone to help us develop the nursery class. The space is a blank canvas for the right person to come and make it their own with full support from the school senior leadership team.

The suitable applicant will:

• have QTS
• have a strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
• be able to lead by example
• be confident to develop a successful thriving nursery.
• have experience of teaching pre-school aged children.
• be able to develop and build a strong nursery class team.
• be able to meet the needs of all children
• be able to plan for and create an exciting and engaging environment.
• be able to plan and differentiate for children's needs to ensure all children make good progress
• be able to manage a team of key workers to ensure all learning time is optimised.
• be able to observe through play and record observations.
• have lots of enthusiasm, energy and drive
• be able to build a strong partnership with the eyfs teachers in our reception classes to establish over time an effective EYFS team
• have the ability and experience to build and maintain strong relationships with parents
• be positive and kind with a passion for working with our youngest children.

Working hours will be in line with school hours during term time only.

Start date: Ideally September 2017 however for the right applicant this could be negotiable.

Current Paediatric First-aid training would be helpful but not essential as we will provide training.

Safeguarding the children in our care is of paramount importance to us. Therefore all staff employed at Pilgrims Way Primary School and Nursery will only appointed subject to a satisfactory enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
