JOB TITLE: Cost Engineer
LOCATION: Aztec West, Bristol
RATE: GBP30.00 - GBP40.00 per hour (Ltd / Umbrella)

YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- Cost engineering experience in an appropriate sector (nuclear, process engineering, oil & gas or civil engineering).
- Sound knowledge of recognised project management and controls principles including Earned Value Management.
- Good knowledge of the uses of commercial scheduling and estimating software.
- Knowledgeable in the following competencies to a sufficient level to be able to understand and describe the key requirements for all categories of project; Project Categorisation; Scheduling; Project Management Plan; Change Control; Budgeting & Cost Management; Earned Value Management.
- HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline, cost engineering or quantity surveying or NVQ Level 3 minimum in Project Controls.
IDEALLY YOU WILL ALSO HAVE:
- Current UK security clearance at SC level.
ROLE INFORMATION:
- Provision of a pro-active cost engineering service to bids and projects in accordance with procedures and systems.
- Monitor and control of commitments and accruals in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Monitor and control current control estimate.
- Prepare and input into project detailed cost reports as per project categorisation criteria and requirements.
- Prepare detailed financial forecasts as required (generally on a quarterly basis).
- Monitor and control of change.
- Support the PM / Financial Controller in the production and analysis of cost/sale performance.
- Support the PM to assess the outturn costs / sales.
- Contribute to the identification of project risks and the quantification of financial impact.
- Set up, maintenance and control of the cost capture structure in finance systems.
