Graduate or Project Editor (Leading Medical Publisher)

We are looking for a Graduate or Project Editor to join a leading medical publisher to be based from my client's offices in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. The ideal candidate will have an A-level in Biology with commercial experience within an editorial/publishing role, or be a graduate with a scientific degree who has either academic or commercial exposure to editorial/publishing work. Suggested degrees are; Biology and life Sciences, pharmacy and pharmacology, chemistry, animal care and veterinary science, psychology, nursing and midwifery, sports science or health science

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and excellent communicator with an interest in combining a passion for medical/healthcare science with publishing and editorial work.

As the Graduate or Project Editor you will work in an exciting varied role that gives you exposure to the full project life cycle. You will work directly with your clients often conducting client meetings to obtain their requirements, and it will be your responsibility to produce, edit and proofread copy for each of your multiple projects. This role also offers exposure to working with various departments including liaising with authors. Alongside all of the above, you will have the opportunity to use your creative flare to determine the editorial layout.

Skills required for the Graduate or Project Editor:

• A strong academic background in one of the following degrees: Biology and Life Sciences, pharmacy and pharmacology, chemistry, animal care and veterinary science, psychology, nursing and midwifery, sports science or health science or an A Level in Biology.
• Some publishing or Editorial experience either commercially or whilst at university.
• A confident, articulate and effective communicator (written and verbal)
• A strong attention to detail and the ability to pick up new concepts quickly
• The willingness to work with clients and occasionally present to them

Salary: GBP18-25k + pension (5% company contrib.) + health + bonus (GBP1k) + profit share
