Network Engineer - Urgent Contract - Multi Vendor Environment Network Engineer / Network Architect / Network Administrator / Network Analyst / Network Manager / Network Monitoring / LAN / WAN / Cisco / Routing / Switching / Infrastructure / Contract / Edinburgh Network Engineer required to join our client in Edinburgh. This will be for an initial 3 months, with a very high chance of extension. My client has a generous budget and will offer very competitive market rates. You will have overall responsibility for the support, implementation, operation, and testing of WAN, LAN, Wireless LAN and VPN networks for the enterprise. You will have demonstrable experience supporting medium/ large network infrastructure and be adept to network architecture so that you can make amendments where necessary. You will ensure the optimisation of network services, processes and components. You will be expected to deal with routine situations, IT incidents and problems. The ideal candidate will be forward thinking, capable of working independently as well as in a very skilled team. As a result, you must demonstrate in depth technical knowledge of networking and a wider range of infrastructure platforms. Key Responsibilities: ** Identify opportunities for operational systems improvement ** Maintaining and enhancement of the networking environment ** Suggesting and implementing new approaches and architectural improvements ** Plan and implement systems maintenance and monitoring according to procedures and guidelines or develop new procedures and guidelines as required Key Skills and Experience: ** Strong knowledge of Routing, Switching, Security and Network management ** Experience in the configuration of Cisco Routers and HP Switches ** Exposure to IP addressing, Subnetting, Network Access Control, and VLANs ** Network Monitoring tools - Nagios ** Strong knowledge in TCP/IP This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced company within an advanced technology department.
