About the role:

At Cambridge University Press our content is central to everything we do. We are currently looking for an experienced and dynamic content/production leader to head up our Academic content operations function, following a recent internal move. The role manages a large team, including books and journals content managers, design and editorial services teams, as well as digital and supplier relationship manager roles. Teams are based in Cambridge, New York and India. The role is based in our Cambridge office.

With a brand new content platform and exciting and ambitious plans for digital growth, the successful applicant will have a vision for how our content management strategy can support the Academic division's publishing strategy. The role will be tasked with creating and implementing a roadmap for our content management processes, tools and skills, to ensure we can deliver benefits for our customers, and meet quality, speed and financial targets.

About you:

You will love leading teams, and will have a passion for making sure our content processes meet the current and future needs of our customers. You are collaborative but decisive, and you are continually looking for ways technology can benefit our authors and our teams. You are a strong communicator, used to presenting to large groups and quick to understand multiple perspectives. You thrive on empowering your team to find solutions to complex problems, and value working in a mission-based, global organisation.

You will have a significant and proven track record of managing teams in a content production environment, ideally but not necessarily in an academic publishing context. You will be able to demonstrate implementing successful change projects, as well as managing large budgets. Experience of managing teams across locations would be also be valuable.

About us:

Our global not-for-profit organisation is committed to the advancement of knowledge worldwide through our exciting publishing programme. You will be joining a diverse and collaborative workforce and you will be supported in your career ambitions to achieve your potential.

Help us achieve our mission, and you will have a career that is not only hugely satisfying but brings with it great benefits and a stimulating, supportive and flexible working environment.

Why us?

A great central Cambridge location, our office is only a ten minute walk from the train station and guided busway. Benefits include a staff incentive scheme, flexible working, free life assurance and a contributory pension scheme, 28 days' annual leave, subsidised restaurant and caf??, free on-site gym and sports facilities, and season ticket travel loans.

Interviews will take place on 13 and 15 September 2017.
