Experienced Maintenance Team Leader required to manage an existing team at a Global manufacturer based on the outskirts of Plymouth. Reporting to the Shift Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent supervisory skills to motivate and drive the maintenance team to meet, and exceed targets. This pivotal role will play a key part in contributing to the long-term success of the orgainsation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensuring adherence to all legal and organisational health and safety requirements.
• Supervision of a team of experienced maintenance engineers in a challenging and fast moving work environment.
• Support Operations department to ensure the achievement of daily production targets.
• Planning, supervision and delivery of complex improvement projects.
• Achievement of key departmental business objectives.
• Understand and communicate departmental objectives and strategy.
• Effective management of required resources (machines / spares etc.).
• Liaise with external suppliers.
• Improve team member's skill levels through effective appraisal and development planning.
• Demonstrate the highest level of professional leadership.
Qualifications/Experience required:
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
• Supervisory experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Implementation of Lean systems within a Maintenance environment.
• Maintenance Engineering Apprenticeship / Qualified in Mechanical Engineering at minimum of Level 3.
• CMI Level 3 Supervisory qualification or equivalent.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
• Technical expertise in a wide range of maintenance activities.
• Commercial acumen.
• The ability to lead and motivate a team of maintenance engineers.
• The drive to achieve challenging objectives and targets.
• A proactive and flexible approach to work combined with a "can do" attitude.
• Systematic problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A sound understanding of manufacturing processes and systems.
The successful candidate must be able to work on permanent back shift, Monday to Friday.
