Bath Cats and Dogs Home has been successfully rescuing, rehoming and rehabilitating companion animals for over 80 years. BCDH is a branch of the RSPCA (RSPCA Bath and District Branch) and it adheres to highest animal welfare standards, prioritising animal cruelty and neglect. As an independent charity it is self-funded and educates on responsible pet ownership and support through micro-chipping, assisted vet fees for those with low incomes.
It is now looking to recruit a Treasurer to join its Board of Trustees. The charity has just finalised its five year strategy, securing its future with one of the key objectives being financial stability. The treasurer will
- Monitor financial administration of the charity
- Report to the Board of Trustees at regular intervals on the state of financial health and good practice
- Lead the Board's duty to ensure its financial resources are properly controlled, invested and managed in line with good governance, legal and regulatory requirements while liaising with the Head of Finance and Trading
The charity is looking for a qualified finance professional who can communicate and explain financial information to members of the Board of trustees. You will be someone with good problem solving skills, good knowledge of current charity SORP and a demonstrated knowledge of charity fundraising and finance practices.
Bath Cats and Dogs Home has a strong and stable financial position and becoming a Board member will be a truly unique experience. Committee meetings are held monthly usually on Monday at 6:30 pm and they last 1.5 hours. The AGM takes place in June.
Trustees are voted in at the AGM using RSPCA election procedures. Prior to this meeting potential Trustees can be co-opted on to the committee until they can be officially elected (to be eligible for election you must have been a member of the RSPCA for 3 months).
This is a voluntary position where reasonable expenses are reimbursable
